Hello everyone,
I am a Dutch Potter and from the first time I started throwing I was wondered by Chrystalline glazes. I am 46, started throwing 6 years ago. After one year lessons in throwing, I started with Chrystalline glaze: a firing program and the great books of Peter Ilsley and Diane Creber. Having a household with 3 kids and a great husband, the process is slowly growing, but nevertheless I enjoy every bit of it! I visited the (old) forum some years ago and kept it in mind. Managed to get really great (Oxidized) chrystals, changing the firing program and use of oxides and trying different types of clay. But feel like there is no end to it, like I will need 4 lives to live! Great! Hope to find some time to visit and meet and exchange! Great to join! Thanks!

Hi Chrystaltan:
Welcome aboard. I prefer the word obsession, but addiction works too. Enjoy! I recommend installing soft rubber padding around the lid of your kiln so you have something soft to beat your head on when you open it. >> Read Avi's advice under the Beginnings section called " for the new kids on the block." Very useful and helpful advice he is sharing.
