Your thoughts about the mechanism which causes the color change when striking please; does striking affect the results of post firing reductions. Here post firing reductions are begun with a water drip to purge the kiln of air. Propane gets introduced when the selected reduction temperature is reached. Until the water in the kiln is exhausted the carbon soot reacts with the water to form H2 and CO . This piece with a glaze composition similar to gold stuff, no ilmenite, but titania, rutile and minor manganese.

Looks Good!I was thinking about water more in relation to quick cooling in reduction after a luster reduction
