Welcome one and all. This past year was quite the challenge. They now call talcum powder a toxic waist. So it was removed from many clay bodies, Forcing the clay manufacturers to change their Formulas. Causing changes to shrinkage, Changing how some glazes interact with the clay body’s. A few of the clay changes changed to clay bodies so they where no longer that go to clay because of how it through on the wheel. Then one of my go to Frits F413 just about died. Had to search long and hard to find it and when i did I ordered 200pounds and shipping brought the total Cost to $900.00 I hope all you crystalin potter are out there taking this in stride. Is there any interest in a group of us getting together and seeing if fusion frit would make another Batch of GF106 ? Thanks Mark Winner

I mentioned this in my last post but ive been getting great results with ground window glass.I built an industrial grade hammer mill and can grind up a 50 lb bag in about 5 minutes.old sliding patio doors are the best because the tempered glass breaks into uniform small pieces . one old set of doors made almost 200 pounds of frit and lasted me most of the year ill try to post some pics of the results and my machine tonight

Hi Jim, nice results. Motor 1800 rpm? Can you estimate the particle size distribution. Thanks . G

1250 rpm 6 pole motor and i have a variable frequency drive on it it gives slow start and i thought id run at lower speed but im back up to the full rpm and its holding together
on particle size it has lots of real fine and some rather coarse initially i was screening it through a window screen (20 mesh?) but i found that the coarse particle don't seem to matter much in regard to result or application. I am contemplating adding a recirculating air separator
