So the newbie guide recommends a couple of books, one being "Macro-Crystalline Glazes: The Challenge of Crystals".
It appears to be out of print. I do have a couple of other books... "The Art of Crystalline Glazing: Basic Techniques", and "Crystalline Glazes: Understanding the Process and Materials".
There are some places online that sell Mr. Ilsley's book for about $70 USD. Is it worth it? Does it have significantly different info than the two books I already have?
Thanks, Rich

Welcome Rich, An opinion: Fa Shimbo's book "Crystalline Glazes: Understanding the Process and Materials" will suffice. Experience is the better teacher. G

Great, thanks for the feedback! I'm really looking forward to getting started... my kiln is on order and L&L is taking their time in shipping it.
Been doing lots of reading, looking at websites, Youtube, etc. I've done a couple of crystalline glaze classes at my local studio, but they did the glaze development and firing schedule. We basically threw the pieces and glazed them, which was fun, but definitely only part of the process. Can't wait to get started on my own glazes and testing!
Regards, Rich
