Trying to work on some jars this week, but I have a question on lids. I have always fired my lids in place when doing cone 10 reduction firing over the years. But I am guessing that would not work with the Crystalline firings. Right? How do you do lids? are they put on their own pedestal or.......? Thanks for any help! I hope I have posted this in the right area, I am a newbie here.

Lids are a challenge, its all in the glazing, i do them both ways but its easier to salvage one on a pedestal than one glazed into a jar, I have on occasion told a bereaved customer, looking for a jar for a departed loved one that"these drips hanging from the edge of the lid represent the Eternal Tears for the dearly departed"

Thank You jfox. you hit the nail on the head as an urn is what I was thinking when I started this jar thing. Been doing lids on pots for 40 some odd years, but I am newbie when it comes to the crystal world.
