Has anyone ever tried firing in a vacuum kiln?

Not crystalline I've built and fired small vac kilns for industrial ceramics. I think if you were, you would need a setup to capture all the metals and funky stuff that would potentially volatilize. Most of the vacuum furnaces are setup to capture water vapor and organic burnoff (binders, etc.) but are processing more "commercially pure" materials. These setups i'm referring to are more to save the vacuum pump than anything. When I go to replace the ducting for kiln vents, i'm always suprised at how friable the aluminum has become and all the corrosion buildup.
