So... 38,000 words and 200+ illustrations so far, but the Omnibus is underway once again. I'm just about to put in a giant order to US Pigment for Cool Stuff. Trying every different type of porcelain I can get my hands on, and some stonewares. Making my own porcelain from stuff I find in the mountains. If anyone has ideas for experiments you like to see done, now's the time to speak up! Got a new microscope, a spectroscope, PhD Chemists at TinkerMill to run ideas by, and whole new stuff. Just made about 300 test tiles, and 3D printed stamps so I don't have to write the same thing on each one. Fun fun fun!

Are you focusing on zinc silicate crystals, or is anything on the table?

Anything on the table! Zinc silicate, oil spot (the spots are made of crystals, after all), tea dust, scheelite, titanite and anything else I can get to grow. Have you got something specific in mind?

hazardous but beautiful (in my opinion):
80 Red Lead 10 Flint 10 Potash Feldspar 6 Chromium oxide
(800-900°C, slow cooling)

I'd love to know more about some of the oilspot and other effects that Kamada Koji has obtained.

Ooo, speaking of oil spots, I recently got a bunch of slip from the Knik Glacier outside Anchorage in Alaska. Makes lovely oil-spots! Not only that, but if you get some aquamarines and crush them into a powder, and add them, it makes the most magnificent aventurines. Alas my picture is on the other computer, and for some reason that one and this one aren't speaking today. I haven't made as much progress with oil spots as I'd like, but I'm getting there.
If you know anyone in Anchorage, get them to send you some slip! Unfortunately my friend lives in Oregon now. But this is a great slip.
