I can't help myself. The LEDs go on everything. My latest project is putting them in the ferrules of my bagpipes. Ferrules are these little [ivory back in the day but now] imitation ivory, round ornamentation thingys on the drones and blowpipe. I'm removing the old ones, and casting new ones that are translucent. Im putting LEDs inside them. The LEDs have a dedicated color for each note I play, while I play it.
Of course I can never hold off to share til it's finished, so here it is... it's just the start though....
The new ferrules aren't made yet, and I can't get some of the old ones off still. The LEDs in the video are bare currently. So they will be dimmed some when I get this thing finished.
The code still needs some tweaks, or maybe it's the fact that I haven't played my pipes in over 6 months, but I get occasional flickering in the LEDs.
I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on this, and it might be a while before it's finished, but when it is I'll post a new vid

Progress...
vid might take a few seconds to show... i didn't downrez this one...
My reed is about 10 years old and I haven't been playing much so forgive the offkey notes and garbage playing a few times, specially the high A. I couldn't get it to stay in tune for the life of me.
Two more ferrules to remove then I can finish the thing!

Why do I get the feeling you will be the first to develop a translucent clay, carve holes and channels in the back: and have the first LED back-light crystal charger?

It is pretty much finished.
My pipes still need some work, I am seasoning the bag but it is so old it still needs some more. I got a new reed but it will take some time for it to fall into place, but overall it's doing a lot better and things are coming together. (I still need some work too haha.)
I put in a button at the top of the back of my chanter so I can switch between different light display modes. In the video I go through all 4 I have written into it.
