Hi Arnie.
Thanks for the recent reply! No, I will not be taking my kiln above cone 11. I just liked the idea of a post that is rated higher than my needs for the extra insurance. With that said, I did look into the 1 3/8" posts you are talking about and they are available at Sheffield Pottery. They are made by the American manufacturer Curran Pfeiff, the same maker as the larger ones available in the link I attach earlier in this tread. I called Kilnpost.com today and got a lady that was supposed to send me information but I have not yet heard from her. I will likely just order the 1 3/8"posts from Sheffield as it seems easier, and you are right, I may need the extra clearance they will afford... They are rated for cone 11 use so that should be adequate.
I have a wet saw so I will likely cut myself some custom sizes. for example, I want to put 3/4" posts between the kiln bottom and the bottom shelf. L&L recommends 1/2" to 1" but at the 1" height, the first element in the element holder partially aligns with the side of the shelf. 3/4" posts will make that situation better.
Have a good night! Abel

Hi Tracy -
I have the 1027, but with 2 1/2 inch bricks - It looks to me like the Advancers would fit if the brick was 3" - I also have a Euclid kiln with 3 1/2 inch walls and the Advancers fit. I'd get one and give it a try.

Thank you Greg and Able for the input regarding cutting the mullite shelves...Arnie, I will double check on the available sizes, but it is the price that really gives me pause.
Nite, Tracey
