Hopefully this isn't too long. My name is Sebastian im currently 17 going into my last year of HS. i took a pottery class junior year and got on the wheel for the second semester. I loved it so much that i found mudfire a place where i would continue pottery during the summer. i have been going everyday with the exception of a few weekend for 5-6 hours. its like a gym membership you pay to use the equipment. i learned a lot there and wanted to do delicate forms so i watched a youtuber called matthornepottery to see his technique but i saw the titles saying "crystalline potter" i didn't know anything about it so i googled. I fell in love. I need to do this he says he will have a workshop in florida in feb and i am going to go and learn this beautiful art. Ill probably post here once i learn and get a home studio.this is an early introduction i guess. hope to share my journey with u guys . my instagram is very active if u want to see instagram.com/penguincave/

Hi Sebastian -
You make beautiful pieces and have a picture of a vase made by one of our most active members on your instagram page - you couldn't have a better mentor. Have you taken chemistry yet? It's valuable information. Matt's coming to Florida from England? - definitely worth going. You're right - it's love at first sight. Same thing happened to me, after I retired.

Welcome Sebastian; glad to have you aboard. Looked through the instagram pics of your throwing work; very skillful for someone starting out. I would certainly encourage you to follow after your passion: you have the gift for it. The crystalline piece you show on your site is a reduction piece: a very high goal to set. There are many master mud throwers on this forum that could teach you some tricks; get to know them.

Welcome Sebastian. I hope you find the help needed here. Matte in Florida? How cool! Id love to get a chance to meet him. Checked out your instagram. Nice stuff there. My wife handles our instagram entirely. I am not really a part of it, though I take a look at it here and there but not through our account. I like the forum better. I feel i have more freedom here. On the flips side my wife rarely checks in here (if at all?) and she does not have an account here. So if yur on instagram yur talkin to her.
That piece isnt reduced btw. Your regular ol nickel over red stain that one is. Check out Avi Harriman's stuff he has a lot of those!

Greg:
Then I am going to have to buy a new puter, this 8yr old monitor is not showing those same colors. Keep seeing people post about colors, that I do not see.
