Hi All,
I got myself a nice batch of Sodium Bisulfate so that I can do some etching experiments, and I was curious about how something so safe could work like an acid, so I looked into the chemistry.
It turns out that when Sodium Bisulfate comes into contact with water - it reacts and turns into Sulfuric Acid. No wonder it does such a great job etching! I just wanted to let you know that it is just as dangerous as some of the other strong acids that we have used. Take proper safety precautions if you use it - especially for your eyes! It can permanently damage your eyes if you accidentally splash it at all.
Cheers, Marie
