Jim, Are you coding in your images? If so it is just a tad different on this forum than the old one.
Now, on the new forum, it's square brackets
[ ] instead of angle brackets like on the old forum

Jose, absolutely stunning like always. It is my strong belief that the color is more dependent upon the thickness of the glaze rather than the amount of reduction.
ESPECIALLY with these glazes that are along the lines of gold snow, purple snow, and gold stuff.
Of course the amount of reduction, and temperatures reduced at, do make a difference, but I feel they are much more forgiving than the glaze thickness.
They have an extremely large color palette they can go through. It is quite amazing actually. Just by changing the thickness of the glaze. Some of the colors are achieved by simply such an exact thickness of glaze it is almost impossible to reproduce consistently.
It is my belief that your refire changed the thickness of the glaze giving you the new color.

ThankS!!!!! I only wanted to insert a photo, I was trying two hours Greg If it is a refiring of gold snow, I agree with you the thickness makes the difference I'm very happy with the result but will be difficult to repeat

Holly:
Glad to see your blue piece shown in the new forum. It has long been one of my favorites. That one single big ole crystal sorta defines in a single sentence what the crystal obsession is all about. Joerg's doughnut is some stiff competition however; the opacity and refractive index is off the charts. Of course the pieces from Mariscal are always a joy to see. Changed to a more descriptive name tag. Now I can spend the next month trying to figure the new forum out.

O.K. gang I'm in!
Way back on the Forum before the Forum that came before this one, I got into it because I just had to respond to a post Uncle Phil put up comparing my crystalline glaze steins to his crystalline glaze wine goblets. That's how it all started.
So I'll kick it off by responding to Uncle Phil for my first post here on the New Forum.
I'll be contributing more, tryin' to keep it real, and will soon update my avatar and get some pictures up, even if it's not crystalline.
Good to be back after 2000 posts on the old forum.
Koz
P.S.
To any moderator who can help me or answer this question....Do I get to keep my title of "Court Jester", or do I have to prove myself again?
