As zincite prices increase you may also use Willemite, Sphalerite, and Hemimorphite.
I have had good results with all of these. I purchased them on eBay and from there Searched who was selling. There are other zinc based crystals.

Mark Winnermixing 162.8g ZnO with 60.1g SiO2 gave me a powder...so I added 60 g of 3110..this fired with normal crystals circle gives nice solid amorphous rocks, which then you can easily grind in a mortar and sieve... works nicely and is almost free of charge :-)...application on leatherhard boy smoothening in with a polishing stone ...
