Is the use of Sulfates in the glaze gong to harm the Kiln or elements. By using copper sulfate and Cobolt sulfate is the sulfate releasing Asid into the Kiln and harming the Kiln ?

Hi Mark:
Sulfates and sulfides are more common than potters realize. Stoneware clays have various levels of soluble sulfate salts, and sulfides from lignite coal and iron. Most all iron found in clay (USA), is from iron di(sulfide). The darker or more red-ish they are: the higher the sulfide content. So fire away.
